Therapeutic Day Schools
The mission of these programs is to provide each student with individualized therapeutic interventions to ensure academic success. Such interventions take the form of individual therapy, crisis intervention and individualized educational planning. Therapeutic interventions focus on teaching appropriate social skills, encouraging affirmative choices and rewarding the positive behaviors of students, rather than being predominantly focused on the punishment of negative behavior. These 12-month comprehensive programs offer rigorous academic programs combined with a strong focus on the social/emotional growth of the students. It is a co-educational population composed of students ages 8-21 who exhibit a wide range of behavioral/emotional problems. Innovations Academy specializes in treating students with autism spectrum disorders, emotional disorders, cognitive impairments, learning disabilities and other health impairments. Innovations Academy operates Monday through Friday at Innovations Academy. All programs are approved by the Illinois State Board of Education.
