Day Treatment Program

DTP is designed as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization. Children and adolescents may be enrolled directly into a DTP program or may be stepped down from a hospital setting to facilitate the quickest return to the home environment. DTP offers all of the program intensity of acute inpatient care without having to stay in the hospital overnight.

Program Design

  • The program is provided 7 days a week, 6 to 8 hours a day
  • Male and female, ages 3-17
  • Youths with a primary psychiatric diagnosis who require intensive support and structure, but not 24-hour supervision
  • Offered at our main facility in Streamwood and at our Saint Mary and Elizabeth locations in Chicago, Illinois
  • DTP is time-limited and concludes when the youth’s immediate presenting problem is stabilized or resolved
